Packing List for Treatment
Arrival day goes smoothly when you pack the right things ahead of time. Bring a week of comfortable clothing, your ID and insurance cards, and any prescriptions in their original labeled bottles. Leave alcohol, unapproved medications, valuables, and anything sharp at home. Pack light. You can always have more sent later.
Packing List for Treatment, The Details
Pack for about a week of comfortable, casual clothing that you can layer, since group rooms and outdoor spaces run at different temperatures. Bring closed-toe shoes for walking, plus something you can relax in. Laundry is available, so you don't need a suitcase for every day of your stay.
Bring these with you:
- A photo ID and your insurance card
- Any current prescriptions in their original, labeled bottles
- A small amount of cash for vending or personal purchases
- Contact information for family and any outside providers
Leave these at home:
- Alcohol, non-prescribed medication, and anything containing it (including some mouthwash)
- Weapons or sharp objects
- Valuables and expensive jewelry you would hate to lose
If you're not sure whether something is allowed, pack it in a separate bag and ask at check-in. Staff will review your belongings on arrival day and store anything that can't come in. You can hand it back to the family member who dropped you off.
